The Terranea Bucket List

7 Extraordinary Ways to Get the Most Out of Your Resort Visit

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

Sometimes the most unforgettable experiences are those that encourage us to try something new and unexpected. Fortunately, Terranea offers plenty of exciting adventures. You can engage with the falconer as one of his amazing birds of prey soars over the resort—part of the natural abatement program. If you’re lucky enough to be here during whale watching season, (November through May) you may see one of approximately 20,000 grey whales making the annual 10,000-mile round-trip journey from the Bering Sea in Alaska to the warm waters and breeding lagoons of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico. Grab Terranea’s kayaking guides and get up close and personal with these giants of the ocean.

Host a Celebration

If you’re enchanted with your stay at Terranea, why not share the experience with your family and friends? The resort will happily host your wedding, birthday, anniversary or other special event at one of the indoor or outdoor venues. The talented hospitality team will impress both you and your guests with their culinary magic and exceptional, five-star service. Visit the Experience Center to meet with one of the resort’s hospitality professionals.

Soak in a Copper Tub

Imagine floating in a copper tub while indulging in the aroma of orange blossom and vanilla followed by a cocoon wrap of tranquility to nourish, calm and harmonize the body. Turn vision into a soothing reality with the Tranquility ritual at The Spa at Terranea. Your 60 minutes of bliss includes a full face, neck and scalp massage plus the benefits of silky and balanced skin from head to toe.

Become a Beekeeper

The honey used in your Terranea cuisine is sourced locally from beehives tended by Executive Chef Bernard Ibarra located just off property. As part of the resort’s Culinary Immersion Package, guests can receive a personal tour of the hives and participate in collecting the honey from its source with the guidance of Chef Ibarra. Beekeeping suits and sweet results promised.

Enjoy a Moonlight Meditation

The ocean view bluffs overlooking the sea make the perfect spot to exhale while enjoying your yoga practice. During the summer months, the resort also welcomes guests and locals to Full Moon Yoga, an outdoor gathering on the Ocean Lawn celebrating mind, body and connection under a glowing night sky. This event is ideal for all levels of experience and gives back to local charities.

Take a Coastal Drive

While we know there are plenty of reasons never to leave the resort, we also encourage you to explore the gorgeous Pacific coastline we call home. With the Drive Series, guests staying in one of the luxurious Shearwater Suites may enjoy a complimentary Lexus luxury vehicle during their visit. The car comes equipped with a GPS guided tour highlighting scenic points of interest, including the Point Vicente Interpretive Center and Portuguese Bend for hiking and wildlife spotting. Enjoy a picnic lunch courtesy of sea beans and watch dolphins, sea lions and maybe even a migrating whale with provided binoculars.

Pay It Forward

As stewards of this stretch of pristine coastline, Terranea takes its role in preserving the area’s beauty and health seriously. For this reason, many of the resort’s associates take part in various environmental endeavors throughout the year. You, too, can take part in these unique activities, including sea lion and pelican releases and kelp forest clean-ups.
