Read On In the words of Virginia Wolf, “One cannot think well, love well, sleep well, if one has not dined well.” For over eleven years, Terranea Resort’s primary and driving initiative has been to provide an immersive, extraordinary experience for all our guests. One of the shining examples is our award-winning culinary offerings. To put it simply, and perhaps not so modestly, we put the epic in epicurean.
This past year, Terranea looked for new ways to provide the same stellar dining experiences, as well as adapt to new changes that maintained the safety and comfort of all our guests and associates. One of the latest additions is the debut of carryout offerings from several of our restaurants. In addition to scenic, outdoor dining, this added experience allows for guests, visitors, and foodies alike to savor Terranea menu favorites at their leisure. Perhaps you’re not ready to dine outdoors, or maybe you’d like to quickly grab a bite – whatever the case, Terranea’s carryout program follows strict safety and health guidelines, providing you a delicious meal with a side of peace of mind.
“The To-Go offerings have given us an extension of service to our resort and local guests,” says Vincent Brunetti, Director of Food and Beverage. “It’s fast, efficient and safe to enjoy the culinary delights of Terranea.” An added bonus to this program is the ability to enjoy your meal wherever you are comfortable. Our spacious 102-acres allows for plenty of room to roam – and eat – in the beautiful environment of the Palos Verdes Peninsula. Brunetti explains, “We offer many great areas to enjoy your takeout meals, including our Sunset Bluff and the expansive Ocean Lawn.” If you would prefer to enjoy your meal at home, with some Netflix, and your best pair of sweatpants – this offering is perfect to dine in your own, natural habitat.
Terranea Resort’s menus have also continuously offered both time-honored favorites, creative new combinations, and fresh, local ingredients. “Our culinary offerings, beautiful setting, and excellent service make dining with Terranea very special,” says Brunetti. “The Farm-to-Terranea offerings and creative ingredients not only are inspired, but really cultivate a truly unique experience.”

If you’re in the mood for sushi…
bashi
Named in honor of the local and historic farmers, the Ishibashi Family, bashi offers a variety of Japanese and pan-Asian cuisine. bashi’s sushi menu includes traditional sushi and sashimi, as well as chef-created rolls like the colorful Bashi Blossom featuring shrimp tempura, spicy tuna, avocado, seared salmon, eel sauce, masago, and scallions. Try the Tuna Tataki, where crispy rice complements the umami-packed flavor of the dish. And savor menu mainstays of both small and large plates, such as the notable Shaking Beef featuring fried potatoes, watercress salad, and lime dipping sauce – great for sharing (or devouring all for yourself).

There’s something for everyone at catalina kitchen! Explore the menu, including our creamy house made Hummus, accompanied by warm pita bread that is extra-order worthy. If you’re a pizza-lover, try one of our flatbread selections, including the Chorizo Flatbread, featuring crispy potatoes, queso cotija, pickled onions, cilantro, lime crema, and topped with sunny-side up egg for that yolky goodness in every bite. And who doesn’t love a signature salad? The ck Salad includes a bed of arugula with blood orange, prosciutto, burrata (need we say more?), avocado, pine nuts, and a bright citrus vinaigrette. From the grill, order the Flat Iron Steak, featuring Cipollini onions, gorgonzola blue cheese, black pepper gastrique, and a red wine sauce.

The Lobby Bar & Terrace
The picturesque Lobby Terrace is known for some spectacular sunsets. In addition, the menu is worth a glance! Walk up and order craft cocktails and delicious selections from the Lobby Bar menu. The grass-fed Lobby Burger features white cheddar cheese, house made chipotle ketchup, leaf lettuce, beer braised onions, pickle, and an Amish bun, paired with old bay seasoned fries – plus, it goes great with an ice-cold beer. Pizza also makes a menu appearance – try the Three-Cheese & Foraged Mushroom Flatbread, featuring brie, parmesan, and blue cheese, and can be topped with your choosing of bacon, sausage, or Canadian bacon. And if you’re looking for something sweet – the Caramel Cheesecake Crème Brûlée is *chef’s kiss.*

Nelson’s
Serving up California coastal eats with fresh ocean breezes, guests can order a variety of menu favorites and new additions. If you have dined at Nelson’s before, you know no order is complete without the Hot Bavarian Pretzel, featuring the necessary dipping sides of both sweet beer mustard and cheese sauce. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich is a thing of beauty, featuring fried chicken, pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipotle mayo, served on a pretzel bun. Sea food, eat food? Order the Mussels & Pommes Frites with a garlicky white wine and butter sauce that you’re sure to soak up.

More than sweet treats (though, our house made pastries, gelato, and more are a delight), sea beans offers a variety of specialty menu items for all times of the day. For breakfast, order the Breakfast Burritos, including traditional and vegan options. Craving something cozy? Try the Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup Special that’s the epitome of comfort food. Sea beans also offers delicious light bites, including Crudité and Hummus, and a Salmon Salad so beautiful, you’ll want to Instagram it first.
